International influencers survey

Depending on what sources you believe, the famous quote ‘knowledge is power’ might date as far back as the seventh century. However, one thing is certain: knowledge truly is power. So in order to equip ourselves with the latest information about the influencers that we work with day in day out on behalf of our clients, the A3 Communications team, the PR specialists for storage and virtualisation companies, has polled over 70 journalists, bloggers and analysts based throughout Europe. We have asked them a number of questions, ranging from the type of materials they like to receive, to the social media platforms they use for work, and from their preferred spokespeople to their favourite briefing formats.

The influencer landscape is constantly changing, with journalists moving from one publication to another, or even becoming analysts, and with bloggers having their copy published in top news sites. Staying on top of these changes and knowing how these impact the MO of these targets is critical to ensure that the right information is shared through the right channels at the right time.

The editors, staff reporters and freelancers (from business, trade, channel and vertical publications) we polled represent outlets including Computer Business Review (UK), Computer Weekly (UK), Computerwoche (Germany), Computer Reseller News (Poland), Diginomica (UK), IT-Administrator (Germany), IT Pro (UK), Speicherguide (Germany), Storage Consortium (Germany) and ZeroUno (Italy) among many others.

The bloggers included well-known names such as Andrea Mauro of vInfrastructure.it (Italy), Chris Evans of Architecting.IT (UK), Enrico Signoretti of Juku (Italy), Greg Ferro of Packet Pushers Interactive (UK), Marco Broeken of vClouds (Netherlands), Marcel van den Berg of UP2V (Netherlands) and Philippe Nicolas of CDP and File Storage Technologies (France).

Among the analyst houses we find 451 Research (global), Freeform Dynamics (pan-European), IDC (global), Josh Krischer (Germany), Ovum (global) and Quocirca (pan-European).

Read on to find out what over 70 European influencers told the A3 Communications team about the way they like to work with communications professionals.
