London, UK, and Boston, USA – April 1, 2025 – A3 Communications, the data storage industry PR agency, today announced Store Wars – The Musical. Set to debut in London on November 20, 2025, on the evening of the UK edition of the company’s Technology Live! deep dive event, this unique take on the data storage industry is guaranteed to have IT professionals, tech enthusiasts, and musical theatre lovers laughing and dancing.
Store Wars – The Musical tells the story of MegaStor Solutions, the industry giant, and ByteMe Technologies, a scrappy startup with a game-changing quantum cloud storage solution, as the two companies battle head-to-head for market share. As the rivalry heats up, audiences will be treated to boardroom battles, espionage plots, and even a scandal at the industry’s biggest trade show StorageWorld…in full song and dance!
At the heart of this digital duel is Franklin “Big Data” Blotts, MegaStor’s blundering CEO, and Lily Cipher, ByteMe’s eccentric but brilliant founder. Their war of wits (and competitive storage strategies) culminates in a twist of fate with a catastrophic archive meltdown, forcing them to unite in a tech integration partnership like no other, in an epic musical finale celebrating the power of collaboration – and redundant backups.
“As soon as I heard about Store Wars – The Musical, I knew I had to be part of it,” said Molly Presley, senior VP of global marketing at Hammerspace. “The idea of combining the drama of the data storage world with musical theatre is so brilliantly unique. How could I say no? Being the off-stage narrator gives me a front-row seat to all the chaos, comedy, and catchy tunes. I can’t wait for the audience to experience this one-of-a-kind show!”
Featuring hilarious, high-energy musical numbers, including:
- “Raid My Heart” – A romantic duet debating RAID vs. cloud storage
- “You’ve Been Hacked (A Ransomware Rhapsody)” – A villainous anthem led by a shadowy cybercriminal
- “Data Migration Blues” – A soulful lament on the pain of retrieving files from the cloud
- “Byte, byte baby” – A rap-style solo Lily sings to Franklin
- “Silicon Valley Hustle” – A fast-paced number packed with over-the-top VC pitches and exaggerated startup jargon
- “99.999% Uptime (But Not for Love)” – A power ballad exploring work-life balance in IT
- “Back(ed Up) Together Again” – The grand finale, where tap-dancing IT support staff and a gospel-style chorus remind us all of the joy of redundancy (backups, that is).
Federica Monsone, CEO and founder of A3 Communications, said “The idea for Store Wars – The Musical first came to us during the pandemic lockdown, when we all had a bit too much time on our hands and a lot of pent-up creative energy. We joked about how the drama of the data storage industry was worthy of a Broadway production. And now, here we are, making that joke a reality! Putting this together has been great fun and we can’t wait to share it with the world – even if it’s just for one night.”
